Geothermal heat literally translates to/means heat from the ground. At a depth of approximately 1m, the earth remains at a constant, year round temperature of about 10 degrees C. Ground Source Heat Pumps take advantage of the naturally occurring heat.

Temperatures vary little throughout the year under the ground.

The heat pumps that we use require absolutely no back up to heat the hot water. We can provide for all the domestic hot water – up to 54 degrees – without the need for an immersion back up. This is achieved through the use of a secondary heat exchanger at the point of exit for the hot water.

Nutherm Galway has researched many different heat pumps on the world market and is now the agent for four different heat pumps manufacturers. These heat pumps have been carefully selected to accommodate the different needs of different projects and different budgets.

Remko:

We are happy to inform the public that we have secured the Irish Agency for the famous Remko Inverter Air to Water Heat Pump. There are two output ranges which modulate from 3kw to 10kw. The larger unit modulates from 5kw – 16kw single phase. The inverter type heat pump comes with a heating - or - cooling and heating option. It also has the option of a built in 150 ltr buffer tank for radiator installations. Hot water priority comes as standard in all options as does built in frost protection. The outdoor units defrosting is by hot gas reverse cycle, which is really economical.
